LASER SCANNING

AFS ROTEL have specialised in laser scanning since 2003. As early adopters of the technology we have a wealth of experience applying laser scanning to help solve our clients problems.

Laser scanning produces a point cloud consisting of millions of xyz positions in free space showing the surface of the scanned part. The point cloud is refined into an .stl file to allow use of the data in down stream processes.

The equipment is portable and has been successfully applied on projects throughout the world.

REVERSE ENGINEERING

A process with a huge range of applications that allows captured object geometry to be converted into nominal CAD models to enable further downstream applications based on solid design data.

INSPECTION

Inspection from scan data enables verification of part geometry to ensure fit, form and function meets specified requirements. Further data across many parts allows Statistical Process Control, to present a clear picture of the variability of a manufacturing process and it's capability to achieve the specified requirements.
